JIRA Software Backlog Issue View

When we create a backlog item and then want to open the details of it, currently it displays the details in a pane on the side.  This is annoying to work in if I want to add sub-tasks to the item. 

Is there a way to pop-out the back-log item, so I can view it individually and work on it? 

If I click on a back-log item, it does not open it in a new window or pop-out style.  I don't want to be working on a corner of my window all the time.

Hi @AJ , yes this is very much possible. What I do is hold Cntrl/Cmmd and click on the issue key on the card on the backlog. This will open up the issue (and only the issue!) in a new tab.

Unfortunately there is no way of hard wiring this to open up in a new tab as that is simply how it is built, but the steps above will soon become second nature

Thank you Callum.  I have been right-clicking on the issue so far and selecting 'Open in new tab.'

I can't say this is the 'ideal' solution, but it seems more like a work-around.
