JIRA - Agile : can we create a user story from an Epic story?

Current setup in our Greenhopper (Jira Agile) is only technical task is possible to be created either from a user story, or from an EPIC story. We cannot create a user story from an Epic story.

Please give your suggestions if the above is do-able.

An Epic is just another JIRA issue. To associate an issue to an Epic, you just need to drag and drop it at the board.
