Is there a way to see all the issues for one epic in a board view??  or would you just have to model the epic as a project so you have a board view?

@Alexa Mehlhorn, welcome to the Community. I'm not entirely sure what your end goal is here but consider setting up Swimlanes on the board based upon Epics. Does that meet or come close to your goal? Granted if you are running w/ a backlog board then backlog issues will not show in the active sprint view.

Swimlanes are basically a means of organizing issues on a board into 'grouped rows'. The resemble swimlanes of a pool hence the name. Here is a great article to get you started on configuring your board.

Configuring swimlanes

note the above link is for Cloud instance if you are on a Server instance you can chose the associated doc for your version in the top right corner of that document where you see "Cloud / Server" buttons.

So if you configure swimlanes by epics and only have one epic you will only see one swimlane, or two if some issues are not in any sprint in which case you would see the Epic at the top and All others in a swimlane below that. Once you play with the config you will get the hang of it quickly. You can't do any damage as this is simply changing the appearance of how issues are displayed.

@Jack Brickey what if the tickets under that epic is on a different board. Can you see those in the swimlanes or do the tickets have to be on the same board in order to see them in the epic's swimlane?

While I don't yet fully understand your processes I would suggest that you create a board specific for this purpose. The filter for this board should include all projects or epics you are interested in. Basically create a filter for which the resulting issue list represents what you want to see on the board. Save this filter and then create a new board (kanban?) using this filter. Call the board something like Epic View.

Consider that a board is really a graphical view of issues represented by a filter that can span any number of projects. Issues belong to projects not boards so they can and often do present themselves on multiple boards.
