Is there a way to get the total original estimate for all backlog entries in an agile board?

As per question, is there an easy way of getting the total of the original estimates for backlog entries in an agile board?

It seems that there is currently only a hard way: export all issues where sprint is EMPTY to excel and summarize the estimate time column.

Good enough - thanks :-)

You can try Structure plugin, which can aggregate estimates upwards in the hierarchy - but you'll need to create a "meta-issue" representing the total, and then add all issues from the backlog under that "total" issue as sub-issues (you can use the same JQL condition as advised by Mathias).

In this way you can also have totals per-epic.
