Is there a trigger to make previously existing Jira tickets map to Salesforce?

Have used Jira for a while but recently mapped the Status field from Jira to connected Salesforce cases. I created a picklist field in Salesforce with the exact status options listed in Jira. Spelling is the same & no spaces after each picklist items. Only some cases show the Jira status which those Jira tickets were modified recently. Does that mean that each Jira ticket needs to have an edit/modification done in order to push to Salesforce?
