Integrating Jira without scriptrunner using REST API

Hi everybody,

I want to integrate Jira Cloud an a third-party-system via REST. I can do this with scriptrunner, but are there any alternatives we have? Currently we have not installed scriptrunner in this respective instance. Especially we thought about using the Automation and some snippets, but we do not have that much experience with this way.

Is this possible or is there any alternative?

If you're not using ScriptRunner addon then you have to use REST API provided by Atlassian. Even ScriptRunner uses that behind the scene, so connecting to a third party system will definitely need you to use the API provided. Although there are various methods to connect to the same API resource which are documented here
