I wanted an integrated view of multiple Kanban boards in an Sprint/Scrum board. Is this even possible?
The idea is that the creation / updation of stories in the Kanban boards should be reflected in the Active Sprint view and vice versa.
Any idea?
Hi @Jira user
Boards are just diplays or visual representations of items stored in Jira. Therefore, you don't put boards in boards. You put issues in boards. So, to get what you are looking for, you need to change the filter used by the Scrum board to include the other issues not current showing there.
Hi @Jira user
Would you please explain the problem you are trying to solve?
I ask as teams using Kanban methods do not usually have the idea of a Sprint in their working methods. Kanban teams pull work based on capacity, and Scrum teams limit work based upon what they planned for the Sprint. How would showing a team's Kanban board in Sprints help them? Thanks!
Kind regards,
Bill

Thanks for the quick reply, I am trying to have a unified sprint board for all Kanban boards. we have multiple Kanban boards which are managed by different group of folks who aren't keen in Scrum based setup. However, we do have development teams who get their work items(stories from these Kanban boards) and needed to be aligned with different swim lanes in a Scrum setup.
Hence, the need to have a Sprint board that will act as a unified view of all these issues from different Kanban boards.
@John Funk - ok , will setup the filter. Do we have the ability to map different swimlanes from Kanban to Sprint ? For eg, Kanban has three swim lanes, Sprint has 7 swim lanes
if the answer is yes , will moving the stories in the Kanban swim lane transition in the appropriate swim lane in the Sprint board ?

Yes, you can add more swimlanes in the Kanban board if you like.
