Insight Manager in isolated environment?

nexusinfo February 15, 2021

I work for an organisation that has many different environments, from development to production, both internet-facing and air-gapped. We use a lot of Atlassian products as a paid customer.

We have a particular isolated environment that requires some asset management and are thinking of using Insight Manager. Originally I was considering running a containerised (Docker) version of Jira Server+Insight Manager talking to an external database, but since Atlassian announced the support move in favour of Data Center that plan would seem to have a limited lifespan. A containerised Data Center setup would seem overkill just to run Insight Manager.

Does anyone have any suggestions in how best to use Insight Manager in isolation, or have a alternative solution?

Hi Nexusinfo,

Run JSM single node DC with postgres on localhost. No cluster.properties/LB/proxy/etc. It is only the host, app, and DB. It is effectively a server instance outside of the license and features enabled by that license. Should be quick/easy to stand up. Alternatively, sign up for JSM cloud. Cheers!
