I have an active Sprint where issues can no longer be created, the button is gone

Hi Joe,

So, once a sprint is 'active' all the issues scoped in that sprint should be the all work that can/could be done. Given that, you should not be creating any additional issues in the sprint. That's why you don't have that option.

New issues should be created in the backlog (not assigned to a sprint) or in future planned sprints. If you create them that way, you could then add them to the current sprint as "injections" (because we know no plan is perfect). But the idea is to plan your sprint with all the work you can expect to complete, work the sprint and monitor it, etc...

In my shop the rule is "if you inject new work into a sprint, something has to be removed".

So yes, that option is not there for the active sprint when you are looking at the backlog/planning view.
