Hmmm... generally the "Location" comes into play when creating a board. For example, if you have a business project (not Software) and you have created a board then you must set the location to be your profile. You can't create a dashboard for SW project and have them directly associated w/ the project but not so for Business projects. Try this...
Go to the Board page (magnifying glass, boards) and find your board then click on the ellipses and edit. Go to General and see what is in Location.
