How to remove items with no Fix Version from my Plan

Betty Fleming June 30, 2022

I've created a Plan, using Advanced Roadmaps, but I have something like 650 items showing as not having a parent. Most of these are fine, and I just don't want them to show up on my plan because they haven't been assigned to a Release. How can I exclude items with no Fix Version from my plan?

You can configure the plan to include and exclude whatever issues you want to see.

What I'd recommend is creating a saved and shared Filter that identifies the issues of interest.

In your case, you'd want to exclude issues with no Fix Version, so your Filter should contain some JQL like:

... and fixVersion is EMPTY ...

Once you have that filter, change the configuration of your Plan to be based on that Filter (not on the underlying Project(s)). To do that:

  • In the Plan, click the Gear icon near the top-left, and select "Configure".
  • On the left, under "SOURCE DATA" click on "Issue sources".
  • Use "Add another +" and identify your saved filter.
  • Then click the "X" to delete the previous source.
  • Click "Back to plan" near the top-left.

Hopefully you'll like what you see in the Plan.

Yes! That will do it. Thank you :)
