How to punt remaining work from the sprint

Hi

I am using Scrum template in Greenhopper and used version hierarchy to have sprints.

User Stories are added to the sprints and sub tasks added for technical work.

Would like to punt some of the tasks from the current sprint. Two scenarios possible..

- Task is already in progress, in this case, the remaining work to be punted

- Task not initiated, complete work required to be punted.

Any ideas ...

Regards

JP

If you're using the new scrum boards in GH versions 5.9+, then they will allow you to select the issue in Work view, click the gear icon and select "Remove from Sprint". The Report will also list these issues separately after the Sprint has been completed.

You can use the "Release" function for a Version:

  1. Go to the planning board,
  2. mouse over the version, which just ended,
  3. open the drop down menu on the cog-wheel
  4. Select Release

This puts the Version into a released state and asks you what to do with the work, which is not yet in closed state.

This way you can bulk move the remaining stories and tasks into the next or any other future version.

Is that, what you are looking for?

I found one of the ways to carry remaining work into subsequent sprints or versions is by adding the next version into Fixed Versions.
