How to migrate data of cloud Jira to Server Jira?

Roman Borisov April 12, 2019

Dear team!

Currently we are migrating from cloud Jira to server Jira, and faced with problem during loading of our back-up file to new installed Jira.

System shows error:

"There was a problem parsing the backup XML file at

/var/atlassian/jira/import/jiraexport.zip: No 'key' field for Issue 10152."

We have installed Jira Core ver. 8.0. The latest one that Jira offers to download is 8.1.

Can we migrate xml file from cloud version to server version 8.0?

We do everything according documentation mentioned here https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/migrating-jira-applications-to-another-server-938846962.html

but it still does not work.

Please support us.

Roman

Hi Roman,

The Document you linked is suited for migrating Server to Server, and the error "No 'key' field for Issue XXXXX" generally occurs when attempting to do a project import into a Server instance using a Cloud backup as covered in:  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-66788

As a referance Point check out this section of the project import documentation:

As covered in the article "You cannot import a project directly from Jira Cloud to Jira Server"  and gives additional details on the process you would need to follow, to do a project import if that is your final goal, but it does sound like your just trying to do a straight migration cloud to server from your description which is covered in this article "Migrating from Jira Cloud to Server applications"

Regards,
Earl
