How to install JIRA Software on top of JIRA Service Desk?

We have installed JIRA service desk, confluence and bitcuket in a same windows2012 server "appsrv1" and all are working fine without any issue. But now, my application team is requesting us to install JIRA Software in the same server "appsrv1". Is it ok to go ahead and install it on same server? Bcoz, during the installation the wizard is asking "Upgrade an existing JIRA installation"    &                                                                                                              Existing installation directory: "C:\Program Files\Atlassian\JIRA" as here mentioned. Please help us to resolve this issue.

Hello Jerold Leo

It is better to install it on the different server. Atlassian also recommends to install on two different standalone instances.Taking performance into consideration in future it's important you to go with different server.

To install Jira on top of Jira service desk go to Applications --> Versions & Licenses. In the right part of your screen you can see "Other Jira Applications" under that find "Jira Software" and click on try it for free.

Thank you Vishwas. Its done, installed it on same server but changed the installation directory and the default port numbers to others. All are working fine now.

A better option than a second Jira installation is normally to add Software to the existing system running Core and Service Desk.  It remains one service, with everything in one place, and automatically "integrated".

From your Admin on Jira Service desk, you can add Software from "manage applications"
