Hi @Risikanta Pradhan

You can do this the other way around - i.e.

  • If Options A, B, and C are selected, show Change Type
  • But if Options D, E and F are selected, keep it hidden

You can do this using Forms, specifically conditional sections

Let us know if you would like any more specific instructions, but these help pages have lots of information on how Forms work!

Hi, @Stephen Wright _Elabor8_, thank you for your solution, but I need to hide one field based on another field value for example ( I have one field A which holds drop-down values, and another field B which is a date field, initially  field is hidden, so in the time of issue creation when I select one value from  A that time the field will display).

Is this possible in JSM?

Hi @Risikanta Pradhan

Yes, that's what possible via Forms.

You can set up the form so...

  • Initially, B is hidden
  • You select a value from A - the one which allows B to be populated
  • And then, the conditional logic in the form will display B
  • But, if you select a different value in A, B could remain hidden

Hi @Risikanta Pradhan

As in, whilst a ticket is being created by a user?

You need to use Forms which I've linked to in my original answer. I've also linked to how to create conditional sections.

I can provide more detailed instructions if you need them, but I'd encourage you to read the support documents first and give it a try :)

Hi @Risikanta Pradhan

See below for some example instructions on how to do this.

Note that Forms either add to, or replace the Request form found in Project Settings > Request types, so you might need to modify these settings. This is also not your entire form - just the conditional section.

---

To create a conditional field on a form...

  • Go to Project Settings
  • Select Forms from the left-hand menu
  • Select Create Form, and create a new blank one
  • Select Add Field in the top-right, and add a dropdown field to the Form
  • Link this field, using the options on the right-hand side, to the Change Type field. You need to enter it into Linked Jira Field
  • Next, select Add Section in the top-right
  • Using the right-hand side options, change Show section to Conditionally, and then...
    • Set Field to the field you created, i.e Change Type
    • Set Is any of to the values where Impact should be visible
  • Next, select Add Field again, and add another dropdown field. Link this field to the Jira field Impact
  • Finally, add one more section to close this area

---

This will show the Impact field in specific situations, whilst keeping it hidden otherwise.

Hi @Risikanta Pradhan

Unfortunately this is not possible in JSM. This can be done by some additional apps.

Seba

Hi @Sebastian Krzewiński , thank you for your solution. It appears that accomplishing this task in Jira Service Management (JSM) is currently not possible in time of issue creation.

Is that right?
