How to formar BDD user story - JIRA always puts 1 extra line and doesn't allow to delete the same

Vikram Ingleshwar June 28, 2021

I'm trying to write user story in below format

Scenario: ....

Given ...

When...

Then ..

I don't wish to see extra lines between above lines, how to remove them ?

For now I'm copy-pasting in notepad and again pasting back in JIRA

IMHO JIRA being bug tracking tool should do basic testing themselves

Hi @Vikram Ingleshwar

To reduce the line spacing a bit, please try using "shift-enter" rather than just enter between lines.

Best regards,
Bill

Thanks Bill for the reply.

Is there any setting to avoid extra line spacing ?

Vikram

Perhaps you could change to the Default Text Renderer; however the field would lose most of the formatting and macro capabilities.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-renderers/#Configuringrenderers-Renderablefields

There may also be marketplace addons (often for purchase) to supply other renderer types for fields.
