How to enable ranking in backlog board

Hello,

I have administrator rights

In one of the projects, when moving (ranking) issues I get the following messages:

Ranking is disabled, as the Filter Query for this board is not ordered by ascending Rank. Please check your filter configuration

Googling the issue I get instructions dated from 2016 which are not relevant.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the desired board, then click Board > Configure.
  2. Edit the Filter Query by removing any "ORDER BY..." argument.
  3. Go back to the Board Configuration and click the Add Rank button.

There is neither "configure" menu not "Add Rank" button

Sounds like you don't have rights to edit the filter for the board.  Try going to the filter and amending it (add "order by rank" clause) and check if you get "save" or "save as" next to the definition.  If you get "save as", you don't have rights over the filter, and you'll need to contact the owner.

Thank you very much!

I was not sure what the problem was. Reading carefully your answer, it crossed my mind that I had no permissions to this particular filter. Nothing to do with neither my account nor the project settings. 

I just saved as another filter for which I am the owner.

Et voila (-; 

The "Add Rank" button is there and I can order the issues as I wish.
