How to adjust the layout of "create issue"?

maaike.dokter January 23, 2020

Hi there, we have a lot of custom fields and adjustments in ticket templates. This works great in the backlog and we have also adjusted the layout properly.

However, when creating a new ticket through the large plus sign on the left (or by clicking c), all these custom fields have been added to the bottom of the list. We want to change the order of the fields in the "create issue" screen. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Hi @maaike.dokter

Yes, this is possible. You need to be Jira admin for this

go to Project settings>screens>expand screen scheme (by clicking arrow left to scheme name) to which you want this change>select create screen,Re-order the fields6.JPG

this is indeed possible but you have to be an admin.

Just go to the System Settings > Issues > Screens and find the create screen which is used on your project. Then if you click on configure you chan change the order of the fields

If the project is a "classic" one, it has an "issue type screen scheme" which tells Jira what screens to use for each issue type across create, edit and view.  Find the one you have for create, and you'll be able to edit it and re-arrange the fields.
