How to add story points to issues other than story/epic?

I want to estimate my project in story points. However, it seems that story points are only available to "Story" and "Epic" issues types, which means that I can not estimate tasks, features and so on in story points.

How can I add the story point field also to the other issue types?

Change the context of the Story Points custom field and add the other issue types as well.

It is also possible to add a custom numeric field (e.g. "My story points") that applies to all issue types and serves the same purpose.
