How to add stories in Kanban rapid board?

Branden Makana August 22, 2012

With the latest Greenhopper, apparently the 'old' boards are slated for retirement. We're using Kanban rapid boards, which don't have a way to add stories, so we use the Planning Board to create them. What is the new way to do this, if planning boards are going away?

Hi brm,

Just use the "+ Create Issue" button at the top right of your JIRA screen. You can then create stories and they will appear on the board.

Thanks,
Shaun

First of all stories are just a issuetype you could create with the creat issue screen. So you are still able to that from anywhere in JIRA.

What you are actualy pointing out is, that major functionality from Greenhopper (pre 6.0) is still missing or at least hidden in the latest versions. i would go as far as saying that about 90% of the funktionality of the "old" (yet still available) Planning board is not provided in the new (rapid) "Boards". I gues that's why they are still available in the classic mode ;) Let's see, what changes in future Greenhopper releases.
