How to Update the Key Number after import Project

Please help to update the Key number of a project from the sequence 1.

we have import the project into New URL , now need to update sequence from 1.

The key is generated automatically - You cannot change the number.

But Its a New project migrated to New Cloud site , previously due to some issue.

need to delete the issues.

so is there any way these number can be updated?

or

If we create the same copy of the project , and move issues from 1 project to another ,

will key & key number updated to new key & new sequence once moved.

Hi Nitesh

If you're importing to a new project in a new cloud site then you could give the new project the same key and the numbers would then follow

e.g. if the current project is ABC-1, ABC-2, ABC-3, etc then the new project would retain this.  If the current project does not have issues starting at 1 (because issues have been deleted, for example) then the numbers would not match.

If you're moving issues from one project to another, in the same instance, then the issue will get a new key and number but the previous key and number will show in the history of the ticket.

Is there any way we can change the Key and Number while importing Projects using Jira cloud back up?

or 

can we use the existing project configuration to create the project copy for moving issues to new Project?

Hi Nitesh

There isn't any way to change the key or number during the import - you'd need to create the project with the key you want first.

You can use an add on such as Project Configurator for Jira to move the project with configuration but it is not possible out of the box from Jira.  The add on is a paid-for add on and not something that I personally have knowledge of but I have seen good reviews of it.
