How does JIRA Agile rank new bugs?

Sabre DOS April 9, 2014

Hi,

I have a question regarding the way JIRA Agile ranks new bugs.

We have a board based on a filter that joins two project. Filter is quite simple, queries issues based on type, fix version, component and project.

I always thought that, since Rank is a global field, new bugs will be created always at the bottom of the backlog (or at least on the bottom of each of the projects).

However we noticed that new bugs, created in both joint projects, are landing somewhere in the middle of backlog. This messes the priorities of the whole backlog.

Did anyone else experience something similar? Or is this some default/configurable festure that I'm not aware of. Please advise.

Thanks,

Magda from DevTools

Hello Magda,

Kindly see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Ranking+Issues+in+JIRA+Agile+Classic. In addition, I came across to this ticket, GHS-749.

I would suggest that you do the following on the feature request ticket to keep track on the implementation of this functionality:

* Vote, so that it will receive more attention

* Watch it, so that you will receive any and all updates

* Comment, and give your opinion on the matter

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Monique
