I'm working at an IT consulting firm and we want to give out clients access to just the kandban boards and issues such that they can view it but not change anything. I've already looked at ways to fix this and i've done changes to make sure they can't edit issues with the help of a new group called clients and then changing the permission schemes for all the projects. But how do i factor in the Kanban boards to do the same.
The boards can be thought of as a view on to the underlying Jira data.
If you've removed their rights to edit issues in Jira, that solves part of it, because they won't be able to use the boards to edit the issue either. The other step is to remove their right to use transitions in the workflow. That will stop them being able to drag cards around on the board.
