How do I unlink Test Case Issues from an Epic?

Mark Johnson February 2, 2014

I have some Closed Test Cases that are children of User Stories, but also linked to the Epic. I want to unlink them from the Epic, but can't figure out how.

I found the solution for this @Mark Johnson.

1-) Go to Issues.
2-) Filter the by Type: "Test" and Creator: "yourUSER". (look for the set of testcases you are trying to remove).
3-) Click on Tools   (It is on the top and right side).
4-) Select All XXX issue(s).
5-) Check the testcases that you are willing to remove from the EPIC.
6-) Click Next
7-) Cherck the "Edit Issues" radio button.
8-) Click Next
9-) Check "" and leave the Dropdown empty (DO NOT WRITE OR SELECT ANYTHING HERE)
10-) Clcik Next
11-)Confirm.

A couple of ways to remove an issue from an epic:

  1. In plan mode drag the issue to the epic panel and drop it on 'Issues without epics'. If the issue is not in the backlog or a sprint this will not be possible. It's also not possible for subtasks.
  2. Edit a selected issue (or an issue being viewed) using Quick Edit with the shortcut 'e'. For subtasks listed in the issue's detail view, edit using the pencil icon and for subtasks of an issue listed on the parent issue (View Issue) page edit via the cog icon menu. When editing look for the field 'Epic Link' and remove the epic's name.
