How do I relate an Epic to an L1 Business Process in Jira?

Leigh Harris July 5, 2021

I'm creating my first Advanced Roadmap, and I'd like to relate the Epics and Master Epics in my plan across several projects to a common L1 Business Process.  I have been through the documentation and it tells you how to create a hierarchy level, but not how to relate an Epic to a level of the hierarchy.  Or do Epics need to be related only to Master Epics, if that level exists in the hierarchy?  And if that's the case, I don't see any opportunity to make that relationship, either.  I've only ever seen an Epic Link that relates a Story to and Epic.

Thanks!

Hi @Leigh Harris - Check "Custom hierarchy levels" in https://confluence.atlassian.com/advancedroadmapscloud/configure-your-instance-998650924.html#Configureyourinstance-hierarchy

You can create an Initiative or Legend hierarchy level to represent company-wide goals. When positioned above the epic level, the initiative can be used as a container for epics. "Parent Link" field is indeed provided by Portfolio. and You can link them using Parent link field in Epic issue. An intiative can be a parent to Epic.
