How can I close the top bar?

There is a new bar on the top: Your work, Project, etc. How can I close it? It takes space and it's not really useful to me.

This is the new application navigation which is described in this article:

This replaces the old navigation options for the same items that used to be available in the left-hand navigation pane.

There does not appear to be an option to go back to the old navigation any more, as per the above article.

I understand. But before they were hidden in the left pane. I'm trying to hide those options as they are on my way.

I don't have any information on being able to hide the items. Hopefully somebody else in the community can provide more information.
