Dear all,

we have  customer request where we need for PROJECT A to desable creation of ticket for that project starting from a certain date.

What would be the best approach on this request without changing any permission as we would still be able to access the project and handle open issues

regards

Hi @serge calderara

This would be something to change via permissions. The ability to access a project and to create in a project are separate permissions.

If the ability to create issues is not part of a specific role just for issue creation I would recommend making a new permission scheme that removes the ability for users to create.

In our instance for instance though we have the users role and the viewers role. What we would do is move the users on the specified date to the viewer role and then create permissions would be gone for everyone but the project lead.

Best,

Clark

@Clark Everson , the idea would be to triger this automatically at the given date.

Any idea if there would be a way to do that using automation ?

There's no way to do this with automation - automation mostly works with issues, it's not validation.

Your other option would be to add an impossible validator to the workflow's "create" transition, but by far the cleanest and nicest method for doing this is to simply (manually) remove the user's "create" permission from the project.
