Greenhopper - Agile board scrolling

Paul Denize February 18, 2013

When we open the Agile board it seems to scroll to half way down the board.

At the start our Pending column is long and dominates the position, as the sprint progresses our Done column gets really long (stories plus issues) and dominates the scroll position. Neither are really where the action is.

Since in agile most activity columns should be minimizing active stories all the active columns (design, dev, test) are short, so all the activity is at the top (not half way down).

Is the scrolling there for a reason, can it be disabled?

So if you close an issue (i.e. you selected it) and said its done. The storyboard will now scroll its way to the completed story. Glad it works as designed - but not very useful for workflow.

And it cannot be disabled.

Come back a day later to look at the board and get scrolled off to some story half way down the done column.

You may be accessing a link with a selected issue specified in it, in this case the board will scroll to view the selected issue. You can remove the parameter from the URL, look for "&selectedIssue=XX-XX"

If you access the board from the Agile link in JIRA, it will remember the last time you viewed the board, and if there was an issue selected then it will be re-selected the next time you click that link.

You can't disable the behaviour, but you can deselect the issue by CTRL+Click or CMD+Click on a mac, then the next time you view the board there will be nothing selected and it won't scroll.
