Sandra Carrillo June 8, 2022

Hi,

Can someone explain the behavior of the grace period please? We believe it is not working properly.

Thanks a lot!

Can you provide more context? What is the scenario where you think the grace period functionality is being applied but not working? Can you provide links to any documents you are referencing?

Hi @Trudy Claspill

https://help.tempo.io/cloud/en/tempo-timesheets/timesheet-approvals/granting-a-grace-period-to-team-members.html

Here it is indicated :"If your administrator has configured the Scheduler to automatically close periods for logging time, you can grant a grace period to a team member who needs additional time to complete or edit their timesheet after the period has closed" We had configurated that Scheduler to automatically close periods for logging time (screenshoot attached) but the scheduler is still open. Capture.PNGTherefore, we don't understand what is the behavior of the grace period.

Thanks

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

When the Scheduler is set to close a period, users will no longer be able to log time in Tempo.
Your screenshot indicates that the Scheduler will close Timesheets on Tuesdays, at 23:59 GMT.

The Scheduler does not close the period in Tempo, Settings, Period Management,,it only closes the Timesheets for editing and adding worklogs. Closing Periods in Period management is designed as a final closure and should only be done when all worklogs in  Timesheets within the period are correctly logged.

When a Grace period is given, it is given to an individual user. For this option to work, the period needs to be open Period Management. Once a Grace period has been given to a user, he can again edit and add worklogs in the period to make sure his logs are correct.

Hi @Susanne Götz _Tempo_ thanks for your answer.

Our problem is that all can log time in Tempo even if we have configured the scheduler close automatically.

If scheduler close on Tuesday, no one could log time in last week, right?

Thanks!

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

When setting the Scheduler to weekly and selecting Tuedsay for closure, the Scheduler will close the Timesheet at 23:59 GMT for the exact week before (so from Wednesday to Tuesday).

Your Scheduler should run tomorrow (June 14th at 23:59 GMT) and will then close the period from  Wednesday June 8th to and including Tuesday June 14th.

Best regards,
Susanne
