The finance area needs to have access to all hours of all projects created in Jira Software. Is there a way to add permissions in bulk for all projects? They need to visualize the hours
Are you using built in time tracking features or have you added a third party app like Tempo?
Are you using Company Managed projects or Team Managed projects?
Permissions for Company Managed projects are managed through Permission Schemes. A Permission Scheme can be assigned to more than one project. By modifying that one Permission Scheme you impact all the projects to which it has been associated, so, yes, in that way you effectively "bulk change" permissions for projects.
Permissions can be granted to User Groups and/or Project Roles. If you have used either of those options, then you can "bulk change" permissions to a limited extent by modifying the users in those groups/roles.
But there is not a specific feature in Jira to change multiple Permission Schemes at one time, or to modify which users are assigned to Roles in multiple projects simultaneously.
Permissions for Team Managed projects are localized to the individual projects, so there is not a method for changing those in bulk.
Only in the case where you have shared permission scheme. In that case you update your permission scheme and all projects that use that permissions game will allow the Finance team the necessary access. Now there may be a marketplace ad on that supports this but I am not personally familiar with these.
