Hi, We're looking to restore a backup of our current on-premise Jira server, to the cloud (an using the standard plan) but we get the following error when restoring the database.
An error occured during the import process.
Import Again with a different backup file or get in touch with our support team. Include the steps you followed, along with any unique characteristics of your Jira setup.
Hi CoMech IT,
I recommend you get in touch with their support team. They have migration specialist to assist with your exact situation. Cheers!

I understand you are trying to create a backup of Jira Server so that you can import this into a Jira Cloud. It appears that your version of Jira Server is too old to migrate directly to Jira Cloud today.
This is something we are aware of and have tried to document out in Supported versions for Jira Cloud site import. This Community post indicates you have Jira Server 7.0.11. We would expect that you would upgrade Jira to at least 7.13.1 or higher (such as the latest version of 8.15.0), in order to make sure that your dataset is compatible with Jira Cloud today.
Once the upgrade is complete, you can then generate a new XML backup of that version and use that to import to your Cloud site.
Let me know if you run into any problems with that or have questions about it.
Andy

Hi @Andy Heinzer , thanks for the info, we did that yesterday based on your advice but still no joy, it fails at DataBase import, unfortunately there's no debuging info to state where or why the import failed, we've bought the cloud variant (currently in the trial period) but we can't migrate if we can't get the DB imported.
