Epic Link in export

Sara Creenan _M_T_ February 3, 2021

When  we dump data into a csv the epic link shows the Epic ID and not the Epic Name. Is there a way to have it show the Epic name.

Hi @Sara Creenan _M_T_

As others have noted, that is not possible with out-of-the-box Jira.  What we do as a work-around is 2 exports:

  • Export all epics we care about as CSV, adding them to a spreadsheet tab (EPICS), and sort by Key
  • Export the stories we care about as CSV, adding them to another spreadsheet tab (STORIES)
  • Add a column to the STORIES tab, using a formula to lookup the Epic Name from the EPICS tab, joining the story Epic Link to the epic Key

Best regards,

Bill

Hello @Sara Creenan _M_T_

There is not a way to do that. There is an issue in Atlassian's backlog about it.
