Email notifications about Jira activity on owned/watched tickets don't work

phil November 25, 2020

The whole team is unhappy about not getting email notifications.

I believe my settings are in order:

and there are updates:

but there are no email notifications.

Periodically checking Jira's Notifications (bell icon) is inconvenient.
Slack integration is not a good option for those who prefer email.

Highly appreciated if this can be fixed.

Hello @phil,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Checking your domain on our internal tools it returned bounces for 28 different addresses related to the following error:

550: 550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try 550-5.1.1 double-checking the recipient's email address for typos or 550-5.1.1 unnecessary spaces. Learn more at 550 5.1.1 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=NoSuch... - gsmtp

I removed those bounces and the notifications should work now.

Please, take your time to test and let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Angélica

@Angélica LuzStill, there are no email notifications. We've checked out G Suite SPAM filters, and there is nothing related to Atlassian or Jira. What is the sending address?

Just in case, can you please check email bouncing once again?

Hi Phil,

There are no blocks or bounces for any email address of your domain.

Since that was not the cause, can you please whitelist our domains and IPs? This will also make sure that all products work as expected, including the notifications:
