Hi Team,
If you filter Next Gen projects onto a Dashboard, it duplicates statuses. I expect this is because as each Next Gen project is meant to be separate, it is treating those statuses as unique albeit they have the same name. But Is there a way to club that status together in Dashboard. My management want to see the status like Project vs Status or Assigne vs Status without duplication.
Thanks
Arun.V
Hi Arun,
I am afraid this is a bug in the Dashboard functionality for Team-managed projects. You might try Status Category instead of Status if that shows up as an option. But I don't think you are going to be able to get those consolidated.
Hi John,
Thanks for your response. I tried with Status Category instead of Status but I am getting the same results. You are right this is a bug in the Dashboard functionality for Team-managed projects.
Thanks

Hi,
At the time of dashboard configuration, there is an option while creating a layout for "Assigned to me" and within that, there is a option to select Assignee to sort with status and other information. You may try out with this.
Hope it helps.

Hi Naresh,
I am not sure whether I have conveyed my problem correctly. My issue is not with sorting with status, when I try to group my assignee by status I am getting To do, In progress and Done as Duplicate statuses. Please find the attached image.

Hi Arun,
Help me understand one thing. I suppose you're trying to create a dashboard for your project. If so, could you tell me what is the gadget you're trying to add?

I have added a two-dimensional filter statistic gadget with x-axis as Project and Y-axis as Status from all issues filter

Figured out. I believe that you need to reconfigure your workflow for your board. The labels for transitions and status are set same. Look at an example at your case: There are two on-hold status- ON-HOLD and ON HOLD. Both are different in terms of defining the status. The chances are high that you need to remove some of the status in the workflow by providing right conventions.

Hi Naresh,
Thanks for the response, After a lot of research I have identified this is a "Bug" in the Dashboard functionality for Team-managed projects. I have tried a variety of options but nothing seems to be working for me.

I believe ,even if we create the status names(or any field values or field names) the same - Jira somehow groups them based on the contexts that are created for them.
The workaround in the dashboard is to change "sort by" to "Natural" NOT "Total" - This will remove duplicate

@Jay Rajaram you wrongly understood the question, in Team managed projects you cant group the status together since each Team managed project is meant to be separate (it is treating those statuses as unique). But in a company managed project you can group status but my question is how do we achieve that in Team managed project?

I am also facing the same. Duplicate status (duplicate columns) is being shown in two dimensional filter in the jira dashboard. Is there is solution for this?
