This is on a Data Center infrastructure on Linux. I have read several Atlassian suggestions and only managed to find that this is only tested.

Maybe. Check out Atlassian's Supported Platforms documentation for Jira, select your version from the _Data Center and Server 8.14_ drop-down in the upper right corner, and review the _Databases_ section. Cheers!
Thanks, while this does specify the versions supported, it makes no mention of supporting them as clustered environments.

It is a requirement for Jira to connect to a supported database (where it can read, store, delete, update data). If you outline it as a single node setup or HA setup is not of interest to Jira - as said, as long it can access the data and the platfom is one of the ones listed in supported platforms.
