Custom fields can be recovered in 60 days after deletion with all the corresponding data:
And if you recover it successfully, don't forget to use free Magic Estimations app for estimating custom fields.
Hey Jen,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Through JIRA the only way to restore a custom field with the same ID would be to perform a full system restore to some point prior to the field being deleted. This would overwrite your entire instance with the data contained in the backup file.
You can create a new field for story points. It is just a " numeric" field type within the system. Just calling it "Story Points" won't make all of your historical reports work again. It sounds like you knew that already though.
Sorry!
Kian

As mentioned in the other conversation, once the field was deleted, all of the data was removed from the system. You would need to restore from an earlier point in time to recover the data if you really need it back.
If you are going to restore to an earlier point in time, don't do it in production as you will lose any data in between the current time and when the backup was taken. Restore into a test environment and then figure out how to transfer the data.
