We have created an internal reporting system that retrieves data and generates a report based on the variable in the URL. For example: http://www.myurl.com/issue_id
Is it possible to add a link/button/menu item or something similar on Jira issues that opens the external page? http://www.myurl.com/{{Issue.key}}

You could use Automation to fill the field in so that the issue key portion of the URL would be specific to the issue in which the link is added.
Thank you for a great tip! I created a custom field of type URL and set up a rule using Jira Automate that updated the field with the correct link.
