Category: Done and affect on closing sprints?

Chris Covert December 2, 2022

Hi,

If you have for example 6 statuses for your workflow and and 1 of them is in the category  = Done it is this category that allows you do close a sprint cleanly by having all issues in a status of this category. I think this is correct.

If this is true: can you create multiple statuses that are of category done and as long as the issues are in a different statuses but of the done category  it will allow you to close the sprint without asking to move any issue to another sprint or backlog. This is how releases work, hoping sprints work the same way.

thank you

Not really.

when a sprint is closed, it considers all issues in the rightmost column to be done. Now, you should always make sure that only issues with a statuscategory of Done exist in the rightmost column. Otherwise it’ll create problems for you.

you can have more than one status in the right most column, and all of those will be considered done with the Sprint closes.

Yep, the "done" status category, resolution, and even status are all irrelevant.  An issue is only done when it is in the last column on the board.
