Can you cancel a ticket from the backlog in plan mode?

Jeff Guthrie March 12, 2013

Hey guys,

We have some tickets that were created in our backlog but that wont be actively worked for a number of reasons. Do we need to move them into the current sprint and then cancel or can we cancel them without moving them into the sprint? (Moving into current sprint seems like the most straight forward method)

What do you mean by "cancel"? If you want to either resolve or delete an issue from Plan Mode, try this:

* Select the issue to cancel

* hit the "." key

* In the dialog that opens, type Resolve (or Delete / whatever this step is called in your workflow)

You can also do it by clicking the cog in the corner of the issue detail on Plan mode and choosing either Delete, or More Actions.

I would just resolve the issue from the backlog

OR

If you wanted to keep them around you could use component, labels or versions to triage them into one of these. Then use the filter the rapid board is configured on so that these traiged issues don't appear on the backlog anymore (But still can be looked at later and brought back if needed)
