Can I have multiple sub-task Issue types in a Team Managed Project?

Sreeram Karthik September 21, 2022

Is there a way I can add multiple sub-task Issue types in a Team managed project? We currently have the hierarchy in the below order

  • Epic
    • Story
      • Subtask
    • Bug
      • Subtask
    • Task
      • Subtask

Under the Story, I'm looking to add another Issue type (along with sub task)- Defect.

How do I go about doing this? Please advise

Hi Sreeram - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

No, that is not possible with Team-managed projects - you can only have one sub-task issue type. Company-managed projects allow for more, but not Team-managed.

Here is the feature request if you want to vote for it and follow:

Also, Company-managed projects do not limit the sub-task type by the parent type.   Any issue type can have sub-tasks of any type in the project.
