I need to generate software tickets directly from an email. These alerts that generate a ticket will never be for the service desk they will always require code change and I want to bypass the creation of the service ticket and generate a software ticket.
Can you let me know if this is possible and the steps to make this happen?
Yep. Software and Business projects both accept issues from Email. It's a different system from the Service Desk, not quite as clever, but the basics are there. Start with https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/create-issues-and-comments-from-email/
