Can I choose to hide issue keys?

Obviously issues keys are important, but I don't want to see them all the time. I would vastly prefer to see names/summaries which are textual and have actual meaning. The keys just end up being a distraction as they communicate very little information.

Yes, unfortunately. You can create a support ticket and see if they can make that change for you. It is worth a try, though.
