But who is the Admin - Let people know

Atlassian 29495 February 14, 2024

Hello,

the following use case is given. When a user does not have access to a project, he/she will end up seeing below (screenshot) page/information.

This information is a dead-end. Instead, the user should be informed who this particular "project admin" exactly is. Of course this brings another layer of questions: Person name or contact details may be wanted to be shared in to this view. The suggestion then is the this. The admin should have configuration switch to enable/disable the contact information shown (default: showing).

This scenario has inherent bureaucracy connected to it: Users must contact "a Jira owner/Admin", who then will answer "contact the admin", and the loop continues, "who is this admin".

Or, alternatively, the user should be able to "push button" requested "access" - and admin shall be easily (non-bureaucratic) informed, similarly just being able to "grant access".

This scenario is in particular so, because the user cannot (or in my test case) see the admin in the overview or list of projects. The project is not showing, because not access is given or it is not visible (by other settings).

Sincerely

This is why I always tell admins to enable "contact administrators"

Hi @Atlassian 29495 ,

As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-  suggested, go to Admin settings --> System --> General configuration and add enable Contact Administrators Form and add message Contact Administrators Message, so that users cone to know what needs to be done in case of dead end.
