BUGREPORT: can't disable auto refresh for bubble chart

Veit Möhlis February 18, 2020

First off, this is not a discussion nor a question but a bug report.

Project: Jira Cloud (including JIRA Core)

Issue Type: Bug

Severity: Minor

Components: Dashboard & Reports

Link: relates to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-65474

Description:

The Bubble Chart gadget in dashboard behaves VERY weird.

If i unset the "auto refresh" option and save, the edit-form does not close. Instead the console outputs following error:
{code}
batch.js?locale=en-US:213 PUT https://<xxx>-gmbh.atlassian.net/rest/dashboards/1.0/10100/gadget/10176/prefs 400 {code}
If i refresh the page, the gadget will only show "The project or filter selected isn't valid".

To fix this, i have to edit the gadget again, select the already assigned filter again and set the auto-refresh checkbox.

But wait, it gets more weird. I tried setting the value of the auto-refresh input-field  to 0 in hope this counts as "box is not set" and let me disable the auto refresh. Well, it didn't. Instead the auto refresh was literally set to 0. Editing the gadget was impossible because it refreshed before i could change anything. With a bit luck i was able to delete it. I don't know if this is a desired feature, but i somehow doubt it.

Time until i found a place to report the bug to: 50 minutes

I won't report bugs anymore.

Sincere,

a customer that is becoming increasingly more angry with the changes in atlassian products in the recent years.
