Atlassian Marketplace server is not reachable

M. Scott Vintinner January 12, 2022

I have Jira Software data center (on prem), and I'm seeing an error message "The Atlassian Marketplace server is not reachable" when viewing the "Manage Apps" page or the "Versions & licenses" page.

This all worked in the past, so I'm not sure why it's not working now.

It's a linux server and I can browse from the command line to any of these sites without problem:
https://marketplace-cdn.atlassian.com
https://marketplace.atlassian.com
https://plugins.atlassian.com

On my firewall, I'm not seeing any block messages (I've removed all outbound restrictions for the server to test)..  There's no proxy involved, just a typical outbound dynamic-NAT rule on the firewall.

For example, if I open the "Manage Apps" page, I see outbound traffic going from my server to 104.192.142.6, 104.192.142.7 and 104.192.142.8.  Unfortunately, it still gives me the error message and doesn't work.

I was trying to install the "Jira Cloud Migration Assistant" app, and ended up installing it manually by uploading the file.  Unfortunately, the app seems to be having similar network connectivity issues.  When I click on the System...Migrate to Cloud, I get the message "Error communicating with server."

Figured it out.  I had to import the marketplace.atlassian.com certificate into my java keystore.

Really stinks that this solution is not part of the linked article (which suggests it is ONLY a network problem).
