Assignment of Epics to versions possible?

Christopher Bandte December 8, 2013

Hello,

one may assign Stories to versions on a JIRA Agile Board (leftmost panel). Is this also possible for Epics? Or are Epics only assigned to versions "implicitly" via version assignments of their linked Stories?

I've added a comment on the story to try and clarify it, for better tracking please continue any discussion regarding that feature request on the issue.

In Plan mode an epic cannot be assigned to a version currently. As you mention an epic's issues can be assigned, and this can be done in bulk. Click the epic to filter the backlog, then select the issues and drag to the version.

There is an issue in the JIRA Agile backlog for this feature which you may want to watch and/or vote upon: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-9009

Note that assigning the issue that tracks the epic in JIRA, issue key seen in the expanded epic information, to a version in JIRA will have no affect in JIRA Agile.

Hello,

thanks for the information. This is how I assumed the situation is. So I'd appreciate if GHS-9009 would become reality.

FYI, this case https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-9009 was closed due to inactivity. Although there are now 4 comments made regarding this feature in 2015. Please investigate re-opening the case? Much obliged.
