Background
I am working in the next gen area and I have created a Kanban project. Using the backlog area I have created several high level epics all of which have been sub divided into more manageable user stories.
The hierarchy I am going for is Project > Epic > Story > Task. I have included all of these issue types into the project.
Problem
I cannot seem to sub-divide my user stories into 'bite size' tasks. I can create tasks that are part of the epic, but are not in the story hierarchy.
Does anyone know how I can solve this?
Hi Sarah,
In JIRA projects you can accomplish this by adding sub-tasks (tasks and stories are at the same level). However, for next-gen projects sub-tasks are not available yet. They seem to be coming soon as described in the roadmap (https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/jira-software?_ga=2.178977255.2131793050.1557419558-1763566203.1523917618#result-066d462c)
Can you use a regular JIRA project rather than a next-gen?
Hope it helps,
Carlos
