Assigning Greenhopper Parent through REST API

I'm writing a script which interacts with JIRA through the JIRA REST API, creating versions and moving issues. I'd like the script to be able to set up the Greenhopper Parent-Child relationship between my newly created version and another version already in the same JIRA project. Is this possible? I've looked through the Greenhopper REST API docs and searched for anything similar with no luck.

There is no rest API for this as far as I am aware. I'd recommend taking a look at the GreenHopper source code (available from my.atlassian.com for all commercially licensed users) to get some hints in this area.
