Are sprints started by the scrum master or an individual person?  Or started by the individual contributors to the scrum board?

Hi @Grace J. Baker ,

Generally speaking, the sprints are started by the scrum master. It is their responsibility to lead the story grooming and sprint planning sessions, start the sprint, run the stand-ups, remove roadblocks and distractions so the sprint team can focus on the work, work with the product owner during the sprint to maintain the sprint backlog, and, at the end of the sprint, run the retrospective.
