Accessibility: Visually Impaired Voice Assistants for Jira and Confluence

Ian Kendall February 10, 2021

I am a professional that is rapidly losing my vision.  I would love to be able to interact with Siri and maintain Jira Tickets and create documents in Confluence.  I have heard of options like Jiva, but honestly find very little in terms of accessibility support in the discussion boards.   Does anyone have experience using these tools or have other recommendations?

Hello @Ian Kendall,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Thank you for your suggestion.

I searched for similar cases and features related to voice assistants but didn’t find anything that could help us.

Based on that, I created a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:

Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

For now, what we see that is most used for Jira and Confluence are the screen readers NVDA and JAWS for Windows and VoiceOver for Mac.

If you have any other questions or suggestions regarding this matter, please let us know.

Kind regards,
Angélica
